Portable Word Walls

by Jill & Cathy on July 12, 2012

Writing time is always interrupted with requests for the teacher to spell a word or two.  Eliminate the amount of conference interruptions with these portable word walls.  Require your students to check the classroom word wall and their portable word wall before requesting a spelling from a teacher.  If a word is not already in their portable word wall, they must bring it to you to request the spelling.  Saves time and puts the responsibility for correctly spelling words back onto the student.   These are also great for students who leave the classroom for instruction.

Blank Word Wall  This word wall is blank so students only add words that they need.

Common Misspellings Word Wall  This word wall contains words students often request or misspell.

I just sat down to make my daughter her own word wall, and checked your site after seeing a Facebook post. Thank you for saving me lots of time!

Brilliant. I am wanting my students to not only use the word wall I am putting up in my classroom but to make sure that they can make their own.
