There are lots of careers out there that require long busy hours and even more that require being on your feet all day, but teachers know that at the end of the school year…our legs are in dire need of a major makeover to turn them into summer legs! (Let’s face it…shaving can be, shall we say, sporadic from August to May.) So, once you’ve spent the year trying hard to teach those students to “summarize”, then it’s time to do some “summerizing” of your own!
When it was time for my family’s first summer getaway – including shorts and a bathing suit – I knew I had some work to do to get my legs ready. With a little help from #CollectiveBias for #SummerizeYourLegs it was much easier this year!
One of our favorite family vacation spots is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We went there a few years ago with Jill’s family and a few others from our neighborhood. There is a great condo we love to stay in that has this amazing pool that the kids just love. This summer we introduced Paige to the pool, but before we got to splash and play, I used some great products to get our legs ready. (OK… so maybe that should be MY legs, not our legs. Lucky girl…she won’t have to worry about shaving for many years!)
Thanks to Walmart.com and their #SummerizeYourLegs campaign, I was introduced to some awesome products and great tips for making sure Doug wasn’t going to be embarrassed to be seen with me when we visited the water park during our trip to Pigeon Forge! And on a more serious note – I learned some simple steps in leg care to help my legs feel and look healthy all summer.
I visited our local Walmart and purchased the products I would need to PREPARE, SHAVE & PROTECT! Duh…duh duh…DUH!! (Say this in your best superhero voice for full effect.)
Then I visited Walmart.com to find out more about the products and read the tips for being able to show up at the pool with summer ready legs. First, I learned that I have to prepare by getting my legs ready with lots of moisture. I have always tried to use lotion, but trying out the Skintimate® moisturizing shave gel was new for me. LOVED IT! Smells good too! Secondly, I needed to make sure I was using a quality razor. (So…I am guessing they were trying to tell me nicely to throw away the disposable one that’s been in my shower for awhile. Hey…Paige is only five months old! I’ve been a little preoccupied.) And third, sunscreen is a must. Ever notice how we seem to focus so much on sunscreen for our faces, but kind of carelessly apply it to the rest of our bodies? Gotta work on that. They also gave some other GREAT tips that I hadn’t thought of before! (Like how to get rid of razor bumps! Yes, PLEASE!!)

In addition to purchasing products to prepare, shave and protect your legs, you can also enter for a chance to win a Summerize Prize Pack which includes three great products to ensure you can follow the tips, a beach towel and a $25 Walmart gift card. (Which is where all of us will be at the end of July to purchase school supplies, huh?!)

And just because teachers LOVE summer and the relaxation that comes along with it (more than almost anyone else on Earth), we created this fun, printable 5 x 7 sign. Just a little something to brighten up your bathroom while you are getting your legs summer ready! Click on the sign to print the PDF.
What vacation spot will you be “prepping” your legs for?
