As teachers and moms, we know that bullying can have a negative impact on how children feel about school. As teachers we know that it is our job to do all we can to eliminate bullying in the classroom. Because of this, we were excited to be given the opportunity to team up with Pilot for their new initiative. Pilot recently partnered up with STOMP Out Bullying, the leading national bullying and cyberbullying prevention organization. With each purchase of Pilot’s FriXion Clicker erasable gel ink pens, you will help Pilot support & fund STOMP Out Bullying programs to ‘erase’ negative bullying behaviors and ‘rewrite’ positive, productive solutions. Pilot’s minimum donation to STOMP out Bullying throughout 2015 and 2016 will be $125,000.
In order to do our part, we have created a set of Being a Buddy vs. a Bully Printables. These are designed to be used in your classroom. We partnered our printables with FriXion’s erasable pens that we picked up at Target. If you haven’t tried out FriXion’s Clicker pens, head out to Target this week – you can pick up a 3Pk of pens for 20% off. This is the first we’ve worked with these pens and we were very happy with the product. These are erasable pens that actually DO erase!
Our printable collection includes a BUDDY page where students are invited to tell about what a buddy in the classroom would look like.
There is a contrasting BULLY page.
You may choose to have half of the class use the BUDDY page and the other half to use the BULLY page.
You can then bring the class together to complete an organizer that contrasts the two. We’ve also included a coloring page just for fun.
Join Pilot’s efforts and let others know that their FriXion Clicker purchase can help erase bullying and back-to-school stress. With your support, together we can write a new chapter in U.S. schools. Do you have strategies you use in your classroom to help eliminate bullying? Please share below!
I love the idea of teaching bullies vs. buddies. This is great for younger children, but can also be paired with different chapter books and such for older children (so they can analyze the different characters). #client
