Camping and S’mores are a favorite fall theme for the classroom. It is a fun theme that is easy to carry into many aspects of the classroom. This is why we are excited to partner with Hershey’s Pudding to bring you a S’mores themed equivalent fractions game that will pair perfectly with a fun classroom snack.
- Print and laminate the cards. Print a copy of the gameboard for each partnership of students. Choose the fraction and wording cards you would like students to use. Sit the rest to the side.
- This is a two player game. Each student will need a colored pencil. Students take turns drawing a card from the pile.
- The student will then color in the given fraction on the game board. If no shape is available to create the fraction, the turn is skipped.
- The first player to get four in a row is a winner.
Other ways to play: Students can sort the fraction and word cards into columns of equivalent fractions.
Don’t forget to add Hershey’s Reading to Eat Pudding to your camping focus. We think these snacks are perfect for the classroom. They can be a quick, go-to snack when you need to add a little something fun to your day and they are so much less messy and easier than making real s’mores. The bonus is Hershey’s Pudding is rich, creamy pudding made with real Hershey’s cocoa. For an added treat, top with a Hershey’s Chocolate Square and graham cracker.
If you plan on sharing Hershey’s S’mores Pudding with your class, don’t forget to look in the September/October issue of ALL YOU Magazine for a $0.55 off coupon for Hershey’s Ready to Eat Pudding! We picked ours up in the refrigerated section of our local Walmart. This will make a perfect snack to accompany your classroom game time! When the kids are done with their treats, be sure to rinse and keep the cups to reuse in the classroom. They are the perfect size for sorting student portions of manipulatives.
