This quick election practice is designed to help students understand the election process. In our classrooms we chose to vote on a snack for the class in order to help the students see how their vote effects what happens in the class. We’re completing these activities the Monday and Tuesday of election week. Wednesday morning students will enter to see the winner on our colorful poster and to receive the winning nominee as a snack.
I Nominate Print and cut apart the nomination slips. Students choose two snacks to nominate (such as popcorn and cookies.) After completing their nomination forms, students turn in their slips.
Our Nominees Are Once you have tallied the two winning nominees, enter them on this poster.
Vote For ___ Because ___ Students practice persuading others while completing this sign. At the bottom we had students write five adjectives to tell about their favorite snack.
I Vote For A simple voting form – students write in their choice and put it in your class ballot box.
Our Winner Is When students enter the day after the election, have this poster displayed with the winner. This pdf would also be great to display on the smartboard.
