This free magic e game for phonics practice will add a little bit of fun and engagement to your classroom literacy centers.
This free magic e game for phonics practice is designed for teachers looking for free classroom resources that are also engaging and high quality.
This magic e game for phonics practice is ready for you to print, laminate, cut and play.
We always prefer printing our games on heavy card stock to make the games a little more durable.
If we are concerned about students playing the game, you might introduce the game during small group instruction. Save five minutes at the end of your group to explain and practice the game. This is meaningful for groups who will benefit from playing this game. If you have groups who are strong in this skill and do not require the practice, your time might be better used on a different skill.
Your game is ready to play!
- Put the cards in a stack and shuffle, place facedown.
- Supply each player with a marker, we used buttons.
- Students take turns drawing a card and moving to the correct letter.
The first student to the finish spot is the winner.
We have also included a category cards to use the game cards for a phonics sort. Students sort the cards into the correct category.
This can become a center activity or a word work activity during your small group instruction.
