These free penguins scrambled sentences are designed to be a literacy center or can be used as a pocket chart activity.
These sentences are designed to be an independent reading practice station for literacy centers.
To set up your penguin scrambled sentences centers:
- Print in color on card stock
- Laminate the sentences for durability
- Cut apart
- Place in envelopes or baggies to keep sorted
- Copy the recording page that fits your classroom
Along with unscrambling the sentences, students will need to add the necessary punctuation. You can choose to provide the correct punctuation with each sentence. Or, if your students are ready, have students find the correct punctuation on their own.
These sentences do include commas. If you students are not yet ready for comma practice, remove words so that they are not required
For example, one sentence states:
Penguins like to eat fish, krill and squid.
If you are not yet ready to introduce commas, you can remove krill and squid so the sentence simply states:
Penguins like to eat fish.
Each sentence is on a different patterned background to make for easy sorting.
