Are you done with school yet? Or just counting down the days until your summer begins? As teachers, we anxiously await our summer break when we can have the opportunity to NOT work seven days a week, NOT stay up late grading papers and NOT worry about what else we can do to help that struggling student as we lie awake at night. Not only does it give us some much needed time to relax, it also gives us an opportunity to feel human again. You might just make it past 9:00 some evenings! And, yes, we realize that summers are no longer totally free and as teachers there are still conferences, trainings and planning meetings. But- at least we have a little freedom and we are not doing all of those things as we try to teach a classroom of little people whom we love but can be draining.
To help you plan out your perfect summer, we have created a couple of fun planners. Think of it as your own personal bucket list. We love the idea of getting together with your teacher friends, pulling out some Coke along with a few snacks, and creating your summer wish list.
Print both pages for your friends to use. Set out some fun pens and wait for your colleagues to arrive! Work together to help each other fill in your wish list and be sure to plan some relaxing moments together! Maybe a mani and a pedi? Make sure everyone hangs their bucket list on their fridge at home and gets to work! Your goal is to get to everything on your list before the first school bell rings in August. The best part is that this is work you will enjoy!
What is on your bucket list this summer? Let us know how you plan on unwinding below!
