In March, we were lucky enough to be chosen by TeachHUB and Clever Girls Collective for a fun project. We were asked to have our students complete a quick survey that contributed to a great Infographic created by TeachHub. The survey questions were very kid friendly and the kids enjoyed the survey. We LOVE what TeachHUB put together using the surveys they collected from over 1,000 students! In fact, we thought it was so great, we created a math activity to accompany it. You can find the infographic on the left of this page. We like that they used pictures created by the kids. If you are looking to use this in your classroom, you can find this infographic here: TeachHUB Infographic. We pulled it up on our SmartBoards so the kids could view it with us. (Not lucky enough to have a SmartBoard yet? How about a transparency on an overhead projector?) Here is the activity we created to accompany it: Reading the Infographic.
If you’ve never stumbled upon TeachHUB and you’re a teacher, we suggest you check it out. Creating an account is free and easy. They offer many wonderful, free lesson plans for teachers of all grades. One of our favorite parts of this site is the section that provides video writing prompts (http://www.teachhub.com/video-writing-prompts.) What a great way to engage your students and get them excited about writing! TeachHUB is also a good resource when you’re trying to keep up with all of the latest trends in education. We all know that during the school year, we simply don’t have time to read every great professional development book we encounter. The short articles on TeachHUB will help you keep up to date until you are able to tackle your stack of reading over the summer. Don’t miss their latest posts by liking their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TeachHUB.Social.
