We could play a round in under five minutes so it was perfect when you had too little time to do a full activity but I was searching for something meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the math skill being practiced, there were also other benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key to students being able to play the game well was listening. Children had to listen but they also received practice reading and speaking in a classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, reading in front of a class can be challenging for some students. I would always try to do a quick check with those students who might want to read their cards to me before they read in front of the class. Each game is provided on a different background color. This will make for easy sorting when the cards get mixed up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second half of the file contains the cards with a white background in case you are trying to save color ink. These have a thin colored border to assist with sorting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also a blank version. At a math center, you can have students create their own game using the blank template!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sets provide the following practice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>10 more or 10 less<\/li><li>addition<\/li><li>subtraction<\/li><li>mixed addition &amp; subtraction<\/li><li>mixed skills &ndash; addition, subtraction, money, geometry, halves and doubles<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">How to Play<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After you print your cards on card stock and laminate the pages, cut apart the cards. You are now ready to play!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Begin by providing each student with a card &ndash; if you have extras, you might give some students two cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ask for the student who has the word &ldquo;START&rdquo; to raise their hand.
