The purpose of our other math check is to assess grade level standards.<\/p>\n<p>This set is different because there are few number sense standards in 6th grade. Many of the number skills needed to be successful in 6th grade math are covered in standards in other grades.<\/p>\n<p>However, we know that not all students come to 6th grade with these skills. Because of this, we have created a way for you to quickly see if there are gaps you need to fill in your classroom before or while you are addressing 6th grade math standards.<\/p>\n<p>In many states, sixth grade number sense begins with an assumption that students have mastered place value skills. We do understand that some school districts group beginning number sense with computation. You will be able to pull indicators from each set to fit your school.<\/p>\n<p>We do understand for an end of unit test, you will might need a larger, more in depth test. This resource is not that test.
