This makes the reading new and pushes students to look for text evidence during our class discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This Keala Settle Passage &amp; Responses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I chose Keala Settle as a focus because of the song meaning behind the song she is most known for, <em>This is Me<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we read this biography in my room, I combine it with an activity where we analyze and sing the song. It can be a good beginning of the year activity as students are getting to know each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The passage shares how Settle has felt like an outsider despite the fact that she is a famous actress and singer. It also includes two quotes from her that can be used to add to your class discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three options for a response.
