and might need a kick start.&nbsp; (Don&rsquo;t we all?!)<\/p>\n<p>In either scenario, writing prompts might be the best way to get students back on board with their writing.&nbsp;&nbsp;Sometimes even the smallest of prompting can get students to take off in their writing and be creative.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Ideas for Story Prompts<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Here are our suggestions for using these winter month story starters:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You can choose to pass them out to everyone and explain guidelines for when they are (and can be used) OR<\/li>\n<li>Save them for student writing conferences and be selective about who you give them to and for what reasons.<\/li>\n<li>Print off the pages and have students add them to their writing binders. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Give students periodic reminders in the form of mini-lessons about what to do if they get &ldquo;stuck&rdquo;
