These spring scrambled sentences are a simple, ready to go activity for your classroom that seems to keep kids engaged as they reading, thinking, writing and drawing.
We have created ten different sentences with a focus on rainy weather, blooming flowers and baby animals.
Students will need scissors and glue along with writing or drawing materials to complete the pages.
This activity can be great for a literacy center or even a morning welcome task. You might also choose to add a set to your emergency sub plans as well.
Directions for our Read, Write & Draw Spring Scrambled Sentences
- Students cut out and read the words at the bottom of the page.
- Then, they create meaning by arranging the words into a sentence.
- Next, they glue the words onto the blank boxes at the top.
- After that students write the sentence on the line and then practice reading it aloud.
- Finally, they Illustrate the sentence to show understanding.
The first spring scrambled sentence download below contains ten individual sentences with punctuation and capitalization.
The second spring scrambled sentence download provides the same sentences without punctuation and without capital letters. (However the word “I” is capitalized.)
We hope that the two versions will make it easier for you to provide a just right activity for your students. Some students might benefit from the punctuation and capitalization and others might be ready to try the activity without these.
