&nbsp;All teachers know that it is sometimes worse to stay home than go to school sick.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully these kindergarten emergency sub plans will make your life just a little easier when you simply cannot make it to school.<\/p>\n<p>We suggest printing these materials and plans ahead of time. &nbsp;This way, when you do need to call in, you can avoid driving to school at 1 a.m.! &nbsp;We&rsquo;ve all done it, right? Click on the bold links below to download each resource available as a part of our kindergarten emergency sub plans.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/guestteacherplanskinder.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sub Plans<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;We started with a Word document that gives directions for the activities below. &nbsp;There are spots to fill in information about your class. &nbsp;Or, simply cut and paste to add to your own sub plans. &nbsp;You might need to make changes to fit your students, but we are hoping this will take a little time out of your planning!<\/p>\n<p>Not all activities below are included in the sub plans. &nbsp;This is noted below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/numbercards.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Number cards 1 &ndash; 20<\/a> &nbsp;There are so many uses for these cards! &nbsp;These contain the numbers 1-20, each on its own page. &nbsp;They can be used for a movement activity, where students are given a number and then have to get in order. &nbsp;They might also be used for practicing&nbsp;one more or one less. &nbsp;One student stands at the front of the group holding a card, and other students need to find the number that is one less or one more. &nbsp;Use as a center activity where students need to count out the number of objects and place that number on the card.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/biggernumber.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Find the biggest number<\/a> &nbsp;Two practice pages for students to circle the biggest number. &nbsp;One page includes all numbers between 1 and 10. &nbsp;The other pages contains numbers from 1 through 20 for students needing a challenge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LANGUAGE ARTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/alphabetcards.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC Cards<\/a> upper and lower, find your partner or cooperative activity to match as a class &nbsp; put all of one case in order<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/missingletters1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fill in the Missing Letters&nbsp;Page 1<\/a> &nbsp; &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/missingletters2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fill in the Missing Letters Page 2<\/a>&nbsp; &nbsp;Two pages for students to fill in the missing letters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/iseeaschool.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I See a School<\/a> &nbsp;This is a printable book with simple, repetitive text. &nbsp;This can be used as a whole group time filler or a small group activity. &nbsp;This book is not included in the sub plans above.<\/p>\n<p>These graphic organizers can be used to cover a variety of standards depending on how they are used.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/graphicorganizers.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Graphic Organizers<\/a> We have created six different&nbsp;graphic organizers, three for fiction books and three for&nbsp;nonfiction books. &nbsp;Have the guest teacher read aloud a book and work with students to model completing the correct graphic organizer. &nbsp;Students may then complete their own graphic organizer during independent reading.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/beginningletter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beginning Letter Mats<\/a> &nbsp;These two cards are designed in color, perfect for printing and laminating for a center activity. &nbsp;If you would prefer, you can print these in black and white and use as a practice page for students. &nbsp;These are not included in the sub plans above.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thekindercorner\/wp-content\/pdf\/organization\/subplans\/frywordstrips.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fry Word Strips<\/a> &nbsp;There are five different sets, each with 10 Fry words from the first 50 words. &nbsp;These can be used for a small group, independent practice or another way of your choosing.<\/p>\n<p>Looking for additional resources, check out our first grade emergency sub plans here: &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecurriculumcorner.com\/thecurriculumcorner123\/?p=8009\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Curriculum Corner 123<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is our first set of kindergarten emergency sub plans for that sick day you aren&rsquo;t ready for!
