Melt Bar & Grilled in Cleveland

by Jill & Cathy on April 5, 2013

If you are going to be in the Cleveland area, you HAVE to go to Melt Bar & Grilled.  It is simply amazing!  We first heard about it when watching an episode of Man vs. Food where Adam Richman ate a 5 pound grilled cheese sandwich to win the challenge.  When we made plans to visit relatives in Cleveland last year, we knew we would have to find time to try it out for ourselves.  It was as delicious as it looked on TV and we found a way to squeeze it into this year’s Cleveland visit.

They have many locations but the one in Independence is most convenient for us.  Last year we visited on a weekend which meant we had an hour wait but this time we were able to visit late on a Thursday afternoon so we were able to walk in and get a table right away.  The decor is fun and gives the kids a lot to look at while waiting for the food.  The menus are on the back of old album covers.

Somehow I ended up with two boys who do not share my love of cheese. They both ordered chicken fingers and fries. I tasted a bite or two and the chicken fingers were maybe the best I’ve ever had, but look at my grilled cheese! I ordered just The Kindergarten and added avocado. My husband was fancier and chose the Hot Italian.

We already can’t wait to go back! If you love grilled cheese as much as I do, you will have to work a trip to Cleveland into your next travel plans!
