Create your own neighborhood mythical creatures hunt with the help of these free resources.
This is another free resource for teachers and families from The Curriculum Corner.
Create your own mythical creatures hunt!
Are your kids getting a little restless from being at home for so many days? This quarantine can seem endless for our little ones who have been inside day after day.
In our neighborhood, children are starting to create pictures of hearts or other objects to hang on their windows. When families go on walks, they work together to count the items on the windows.
We’ve hard heart day, silly faces, jokes and a neighborhood safari.
This gave me the idea of creating a new idea for next week.
Print Your Creatures
I have put together a set of pages that each have a mythical creature. Children can print and color their favorite creature or creatures.
You will find a unicorn, alien, fairy, superhero, robot, mermaid, dragon and monster.
To go with the pictures children will color, there are three different pages for children to complete as they go on their hunt.
The first page students will simply make tally marks for each creature they find.
The second version asks children to also trace the name of the creature.
Finally, our last page asks children to share a fact about each creature. This could be a fun follow-up for older children when they return home.
