The Arctic A simple graphic organizer for students to add words and pictures to. This might be done as you begin your focus on the Arctic to activate schema or it might be done at the end of the week to help students review.
Read and Color Animals of the Arctic Booklet Print and have students read then color. The repetitive text is good for beginning readers.
Number Representation Clip Cards These clip cards are designed to be a math center. Print in color and laminate, provide students with the cards and clothespins. Students place a clothespin on the matching representation.
Write the Room Activity Hide the cards around the room and have students use the recording page to complete the activity. This download also includes a community helper hunt for the classroom. Also, you will find a community helper tools graphing activity. You can choose to hide the tools around the room for students to graph or you can put the tools in a basket for students to sort and count at a center.
Picture Sentence Cards This download contains 8 sentences with pictures plus one blank set. You can cut the cards straight across so that students can use the picture clues to help in reading the sentence. Or, you can choose to cut the sentences apart from the pictures. Students can work to match each picture with the correct sentence.
Arctic Punch Cards This page contains four punch cards. Print and cut the four cards apart. Students use a hole punch to “punch” the words around the edge that match the word in the middle. Not only does this activity help students with recognizing words, it also provides good fine motor practice.
Arctic Math Pages This set includes a 10 frames practice page, a before and after counting page and a count and tally practice.
