Fry Word Self Check Pages are designed so students can self asses their Fry progress by coloring in the words they know how to read. Students have a visual to see the progress they have made when you add these to their data folders. We suggest having students use one color when first introduced to the pages. They will color in the words they know how to read. A given period of time later (a week, month or grading period) students return to the pages and color in the words they have learned with a different color. As with any self assessment tool, it is a good idea to spend time teaching children how these should be correctly used.
