Listening Responses

Read Aloud Response Sheets by The Curriculum Corner

Students often love listening to read alouds, even as they get older.  As teachers, we love that our students enjoy listening to books even as they grow.  One concern we have is for those students who we are not quite sure are listening.  For this reason, we have created these response sheets.  After a read aloud, students are given a few minutes to respond to what they heard.  You might ask them to share the main idea or character or maybe make a prediction.  You could even ask students to share how an event made them feel.  This activity only takes minutes but gives students a reason to stay focused on the reading and helps you see that students are thinking as they listen.
