This set was created to address fractions on a number line. This is a third grade standard. Some second grade classrooms might also be ready to practice this skill. This activity might also become a good review center for fourth grade classes.
Need ideas to help your students visualize the value of fractions? These cards will help you with this concept.
We have created 45 fraction cards that you can use in your classroom.
We envision using a rope and clothespins to create a large number line. Hang in a spot in your classroom where this activity is accessible during morning work or during centers.
This can become a whole class activity where students work together to place the fraction cards or a center activity where a small group or even individual places the fractions on the line.
We have also included a set of whole number cards. We thought this might be a good way for students to warm up before working with fractions.
Below you will find the links for the whole number cards. We have also included a separate set that will provide you with the fraction cards.
