Monster Themed Synonym Poke Cards (5th & 6th grades)

It can be difficult to find center activities that are designed for older students.  We created this center with that idea in mind.  Print, laminate and then cut.  Use a hole punch to put a hole at the bottom of each monster.  On the back of the card, use a pen to circle the hole behind the correct answer.  This will make this a self-checking activity.

To play, students use a “poker” of some sort.  You might give students a coffee stirrer or other object. We found some fun monster hand pics on Amazon (see the link below.)
