This collection of eight different number of the day worksheets will give your fourth and fifth grade students daily number sense practice.

This is another free resource for teachers from The Curriculum Corner.

Add these number of the day worksheets to your daily math practice.

These pages can be used as focused practice during your number sense review at the beginning of the year or as a review throughout the school year.

Even as children grow older, it is important for us to make sure we have helped them master place value skills. This will help build the foundation in future math work.

To help strengthen number sense in the upper grades we have developed these daily number sense resources.

This collection of eight different number of the day worksheets will give your fourth and fifth grade students daily number sense practice.

Skills covered in these number of the day pages

These pages include whole numbers up to the hundred thousands. Some pages also include decimal practice. You can find decimal practice to the ten-thousandths place.

Students will practice giving word form of numbers and writing numbers in expanded form.

They will practice increasing and decreasing numbers by a given amount.

Also included are options for identifying numbers as odd or even.

Using these number of the day pages

You can use these every day or maybe only once a week depending upon the needs of your students.   Do them together or assign them for independent work to get a picture of your students’ strengths and weaknesses.

These can also be used as a morning entry task.

You may have some who could benefit from daily practice until they show better understanding.  In that case perhaps you would do them with a small guided group for a period of time.

Hi Brenda! Actually much of what is on our site can be used in first grade too (and some of it is specific to first grade). We have many first grade teachers who use our resources since many of them can be used for various levels. If you click around a bit you will find what works for you. We will look into a Number of the Day specific to first grade. Thanks!
